Registrar, General Surgery
Clinical Experience at HAMS Hospital, Nepal Started my surgical practice at HAMS Hospital from the ground up. Initially performing approximately five surgeries per month, I steadily built a high-volume practice through consistent outcomes, ethical care, and patient trust, eventually performing more than 150 surgeries per month. During this period, I gained the confidence of patients as well as the trust of several renowned surgeons and specialists. I had the opportunity to manage complex surgical cases for an elite and diverse patient population in Nepal. Worked closely with Prof. Prabin Bikram Thapa, pioneer of modern pancreatic surgery in Nepal; Prof. Bhagawan Koirala, internationally renowned cardiac surgeon; Prof. Bholarijal, leading gynecologist; and several other distinguished clinicians. These collaborations significantly enriched my multidisciplinary approach to complex surgical care.
ERCP Training
Received structured training in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with extensive hands-on experience under the mentorship of Prof. Bala Ram Malla and Dr. Ram Gurung, pioneers of ERCP in Nepal. Performed 176 ERCP procedures independently and gained exposure to 1,387 ERCP procedures, including advanced biliary interventions and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). Among a limited number of surgeons in Nepal who perform ERCP and laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the same operative sitting, enabling comprehensive, single-session management of biliary stone disease. This integrated approach reduces hospital stay, anesthesia exposure, and overall treatment burden while improving patient outcomes.
